J-41 - a "second life"

RED GULL supports the "Blind Date" Team in their racing ambitions
The boat is refitted for racing acc. IMS: new deck, new rigg and all ballast removed

With Jan Kuffels decision to realise the J-41 project, we confirmed our support
The project consists of making the slightly aged J-41 racer "SOLO" fast again. The boat has won in US One ton championships as well as in SORC some titles. Now the "old" boat will be speeded up acc. IMS rules. The summer and autumn of 2008 were used for slight modifications and testing.  The gained cognitions flew into a major program of technical face liftings, this old lady had to undergo during 2009. Now in autumn 2009 the trimming and fine tuning has started. From now on things will get serious: The J-41 will still this year hit the racing courses again, with Jan's crew from the successfull "Oma Ellie", an OOD 34.
Since "Oma Ellie" was fast enaugh for a second place in the ORC Championship we are absolutely confident the guys will run a successfull 2010 competition season.
