This process has specially been developped for treatment of used Dacron/Polyester sails. The process intention is to bring  a maximum of benefits to a sail when in treatment. The cleaning of the sail is just a part of the process.

With the realignment of the warp and woof strings in the sails fabric, the process is capable of reproducing a used Dacron sails original profile. Other than mostly stated, Dacron sails do not loose their profile by streching of the Dacron fibres, but by deorganisation of the original woof/warp alignment.

On the picture to the left you can see nicely this effect. The 2 photos on the left show the used sail before treatment. You can see the irregular wave pattern and the flattend strings. in the two photos to the right, you can see how nicely these are rearranged and in line again. This is how the profile is regenerated.

Also the pictures show in the right bottom picture, how the Dacron fibres are saturated with the Sail Regeneration resins. This makes the sail wind and water proof, less vulnerable to pollutions, quick drying, ridgid and above all, it glues the newly gained profile in place.

The bonding character of the resins will glue the regained sails shape. This prevents the sail of going out of shape immediately again once you pull the sheets.

Also the textile tension of the sail will be regenerated, which shows in a newly gained crackyness of the sailcloth. In attached picture below to the right, you can see how voluminous the sail plies after treatment, this is due to the sails new stiffness.

Protection is the last item, the treatment produces. Sails that have gone through the regeneration process will produce strongly hydro- and oleophobic surfaces. This is essential in rejecting pollutions. Water can carry those off  and  the hydrophobic effects guarantee quick drying times. Such sails do not suffer from modern environmental pollutions like diesel exhaust particles and other pollutions, as cleaned sails from traditional machine washings do.

A regular question is, if this treatment works only on horizontal cuts of sails? No it works on any cut, the sail is made in. The only important item is, that the sail is made of Dacron.
