Big Boats, Tall Ships, Classic- and Super Yachts 

RED GULL has gathered quite some experiences over the last years in cleaning big sails. In our Nummela based hangar, sails of up to 500 m² can be treated. In our Dutch and Finnish plants, the sails of  very sophisticated tall ships, classic and super yachts have been cleaned and refinished. 

Super Yacht Sail Service

In our Super Yacht Service, sails are cleaned and finished acc. most modern chemical know how. Due to the much longer maintenance intervals caused by the difficult handling of big sized super yacht sails, their treatment is considered a major challenge. The pollution rates of such sails are much more intensive than with easy to handel normal sized sails. First oxidations, greasy pollutions, weather influences and mildew affections will be removed. after drying the sail will obtain a new protective coating against humdity and pollutions, which will in consequence keep the yachts sail wardrobe longer propper. This process can also be applied on new production sails. Please contact us for detailed information.   

Processing of big sized Sails

Due to size, weight, drying behaviour and time these super sized sails occupy in almost every way big amounts of capacities, therefore quick and effective action is imperative. Since normal sails can take up to 40 % of their own weight in humidity, sail cleaning in super yacht sizes, these sails exceed quickly 500 kg, enters an very own dimension. Since these sails cannot be treated in cleaning baths, the working floor size becomes an rather important measure. The more sail surface can be worked in one single step, the less humidity needs to be evaporated and the quicker the drying process becomes effective. After drying the sails are ready for application of a new RED GULL PRO-2 Sail Regeneration finish, strong and protective.

Since Super yacht sails are treated among totally different processes, they do not fit into the normal sail treatment pricings. With your information on sail, sail size, yacht location, logistic demands and options we can determine a price for the treatment in one of our plants.
